F.A.Q.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Do you test on animals?
No, we do not. All of our products are tested on my children or willing spouse. Once I feel that the formula is where I want it to be I offer samples (first come first serve) to members of my Facebook VIP group.
- Are your products safe for children?
We test all of our products on our own children. Some products may not be recommended for children like the shower steamers but I know some moms use them while supervising. While rare I have known of people being allergic to Vitamin E which is in our lotion, lip balms, and a few other products. All of our products should be tested on small areas and you should discontinue usage should there be a reaction.
CANDLES
- Why does the wax in my candle get stuck to the sides?
The first time you burn your candle is very important and is called a memory burn. You want to make sure that when you burn your candle it melts all the way to the edge, but don’t burn over 4 hours. If you don’t burn all the way to the edge the next time you burn your candle it will only go up to that line it burned the last time. This is called tunneling because your candle will start to tunnel in and you’ll waste all of the wax that sticks to the edge.
- Do you use dye in your candles?
No, I do not. I use soy wax, a clean and renewable resource in my candles to produce a clean, burning candle. Adding additives such as dyes would defeat the purpose of having a natural candle.
SUGAR SCRUBS
- What do you use to color your sugar scrubs?
I use different ingredients to color the sugar scrubs and include them in the description of each sugar scrub. Some of the ingredients I use are bee pollen, green tea powder, clays, along with other natural ingredients.
- Why did my sugar scrub melt?
Part of the recipe for the sugar scrub contains coconut oil which has a lower melting point. If your sugar scrub melts you can place it in your refrigerator for about 15 minutes. It does not need to stay there.
- Do you use a preservative in the sugar scrub?
I use a paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative in my sugar scrubs because while they may not contain water in the actual recipe they do come in contact with water while it’s being used. I like to play it safe as the product can become contaminated and mold could grow without a preservative. It is still important to keep water out of the container.
BATH BOMBS
- Do you use polysorbate 80 in your bath bombs?
I use dye in my bath bombs so that I do not have to use polysorbate.
